Fossil Treasure Trove
The local city of Hakusan is home to the “silicified wood production area in the Tedori River basin,” a representative geological formation of the Cretaceous Period, approximately 100 million years ago, and is designated as a national natural monument.
Visitors can enjoy valuable fossil exhibits such as dragon fossils and plant fossils found here, as well as actual fossils of Iguanodonts from England.
Searching for fossils at the Fossil Discovery Plaza
Visitors can actually experience fossil hunting. This is an experience that both adults and children can get absorbed in. You can take home the fossils you find.
Plant fossils dating back 130 million years are often found, but dinosaur teeth have also been found in the past!
Nature Experience Plaza where you can play to your heart’s content
A grassy plaza with a 40-meter-long slide “Dinah Slider” and playground equipment.
